When I upload a file, what things do you check for?

With our QC process we try to ensure that we pick up on any technical faults that we feel may be an issue with the stations. The most common things that we look for are:

  • 12 frames of silence at top and tail
  • Correct aspect ratio
  • Duplicate frames
  • Frame skips
  • Visual and audio glitches
  • Audio loudness
  • Vision is compliant to broadcast standards on a waveform monitor
  • Interlacing/ Banding issues
  • Correct file type has been sent to us e.g. Pro Res 422, H 264.mov
  • Clapperboard information is correct
  • Key number on the order and clapperboard match
